What if you spent every day looking for One Beautiful Thing?

When OCD Produces Beauty, It Produces Really a Lot of It

Highly prolific OBT.

In 2009, the Sunday Times Style Section called her a doodle bug.  I like the simplicity of that, but she’s so much more.  Charlotte Mann draws rooms within rooms, and the results are mind blowing.  I really enjoyed looking at pictures of her work to try and pick out the practical objects from the drawn 1:1 scale objects.

It entertains me to think she might have gotten her start plaguing her parents by drawing on the walls of her childhood home (I know I did), but I’ve found nothing to back up that fanciful idea.  She’s done gallery walls and runway show walls and the walls of her home and the homes of others.  I’m blown away by how much she can do with a white surface and a black marker.

  1. She is not allowed to come over to our house. If she ever does. she has to leave her markers at the door.
